Terms and Conditions

E-commerce and Online Purchases

When making a purchase through our Website, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms relating to our online offering.

For information on how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Website or place an order, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Product Information and Imagery

We make every effort to ensure that all product descriptions, specifications, and pricing are accurate and up to date. However, slight variations may occur.

Images displayed on the Website are for illustrative purposes only. While we endeavour to present products as accurately as possible, variations in colour, tone, size, and finish may occur due to factors such as screen settings, lighting, and manufacturing tolerances.

In the case of handcrafted items or natural materials (including, but not limited to, gemstones and precious metals), each piece may exhibit unique characteristics and slight differences from the images shown.

Pricing and Availability

All prices displayed on the Website are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time without prior notice. In the event of a pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order placed at the incorrect price, subject to applicable law.

Product availability is subject to change without notice. Placing an item in your cart does not reserve that item. We reserve the right to limit quantities or discontinue products at our discretion.

Order Acceptance and Fulfilment

Submission of an order does not constitute acceptance of that order. All orders are subject to confirmation and acceptance by Shemer Jewellers.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for reasons including, but not limited to, product availability, errors in pricing or product information, or suspected fraudulent activity.

Where an order is cancelled after payment has been processed, a full refund will be issued in accordance with applicable laws.

Delivery and Use of Third-Party Couriers

We make use of reputable third-party courier and logistics providers to fulfil deliveries. While we take reasonable care in selecting and instructing these providers, such services are operated independently of Shemer Jewellers.

Delivery timeframes provided are estimates only and may vary depending on location, product availability, and external factors beyond our control, including delays within the courier network, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

All shipments are insured where applicable; however, risk in the goods shall remain with Shemer Jewellers until delivery has been completed to the address provided and accepted by the recipient. Upon delivery, risk passes to you.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the delivery details provided are accurate and that an authorised person is available to receive the goods. Shemer Jewellers shall not be liable for delays, failed deliveries, or losses arising from incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by you.

In the event of loss or damage in transit, you are required to notify us promptly so that we may investigate the matter with the courier provider and take appropriate steps in accordance with our obligations under applicable law.

Returns and Exchanges

Your rights regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds are governed by applicable South African consumer protection laws.

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Should you wish to return or exchange an item, you may do so within 7 (seven) days of delivery, subject to the conditions outlined below.

To be eligible for a return or exchange, items must be returned:

  • Unworn and unused;
  • In their original condition;
  • In the original packaging;
  • Accompanied by all relevant documentation, certificates, and proof of purchase.

Items that do not meet these requirements may not be accepted for return or exchange.

Please note that certain items may be excluded from return or exchange where this is stipulated at the time of purchase and permitted by law, including bespoke, customised, or special-order pieces.

All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt. Once approved, refunds or exchanges will be processed in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection laws. Refunds will be issued via the original method of payment unless otherwise agreed.

Return shipping arrangements and associated costs may apply, unless the item is defective or not as described.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit your statutory rights under applicable South African law, including your rights in relation to defective goods.

Compliance with South African Law

Our e-commerce operations are conducted in accordance with applicable South African legislation, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Nothing in this policy is intended to limit your statutory rights.
